The Interlake Refugee Support Network (IRSN) is a community-based organization located in the Interlake region of Manitoba, Canada. It was established to support refugees arriving in the area, helping them settle and integrate into the local community. The group operates as a collaborative effort among individuals, community organizations, churches, and other institutions dedicated to providing practical and emotional support to refugees.
Main Objectives:
Reception and Welcome: Ensure that refugees are warmly welcomed into the community and that their initial needs are met.
Practical Assistance: This includes housing, transportation, access to education, healthcare, and other basic necessities.
Cultural and Social Integration: Organize events and activities to help refugees understand local culture and feel part of the community.
Language Support: Offer or facilitate access to English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, helping refugees communicate more effectively.
Partnerships: Work with other organizations and institutions to maximize the resources available to refugees.

Zainab and Zakieh’s mother (Farida), her brother and wife (Rashid and Seriya) and their children, Sabrina, Salah, Berfin, Tcherckes and Yasmine arrived in Arborg on February 8, 2024.
We are grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to bring hope and new life to this beloved family.

The Interlake Refugee Support Network sponsors refugee families to the Arborg area.
Currently they are working on bringing a four year old boy named Jamil and his family to Canada so that Jamil can recieve life saving treatment for cancer.
